To Take a Different Path

I remember reading another blog post about peer pressure, and how we should not let it run our lives and decide what we do.  It said that we should make our own choices and enjoy self-empowerment.  Well, with both friends, family, social media, and the news urging me to read this book, I finally read Divergent by Veronica Roth. Beatrice seemed to be an average girl from the 1st grade to me.  Shy and always second-guessing herself, yet ahead of everyone else while predicting her next move.  The…See More

Continuing an Interesting Series

Pittacus Lore composes literature in a fashion that no one is used to.  All novels are based on foreign invaders from a distant planet called Lorien.  In The Power of Six, astonishing events happen that take my breath away.  Each page turn was into an unknown world, as each sentence created a new problem that the characters had to resolve.  I personally enjoyed the amount of people that died during the battles in this novel. …See More

How I Feel at the End of the Year

"Finals are not the greatest times that I can think about with school.  They are always stressful, and very compact.  I do not understand why they all have to be within a three day period.  Better planning should be made to allow for…"

How To Keep Reality Away

Death of a Character!

"I agree with every word of this!  Some of my favorite characters, whether it be from a favorite novel or a television show (usually Criminal Minds), I cannot believe that some of these people would die!"

"Quite an interesting book, it sounds like.  This is another novel that I will have to read.  The way that you described her situation was remarkably breath-taking, and I really like how the author makes it somewhat relatable to everyone.…"

"I cannot believe that I missed her last year at writers week!  I hope that Sierra will return to speak to us once again, and in the passion that she brings whenever she is performing.  What she does is not speak, it is an art form; rather…"

"Acting is a really enhancing part to speaking a poem.  I really enjoyed not only listening to what he had to say, but the gestures that he made while saying it.  "

The human spirit is an interesting topic.  We are all born into the same world, usually with the same amount of chromosomes to build our bodies.  Mentally, we are capable of virtually anything that we can imagine: building mile high skyscrapers to massive man-made tunnels.  Three traits make up who we are.  Each human has a different physical trait, a different mental trait, and a different emotional trait.  Like the saying goes, no two humans are alike.  I have a unique face that is only…

A Mysterious Twist

With every page turn came a different element of surprise.  With every chapter came a new problem that only dug deeper into the mystery.  A feeling of breathlessness and anticipation overcame me as I slowly crept through the book.  Shelter was written in a way that will shoot icy shivers down your spine and raise the hairs on the back of your neck.  After I would finish a chapter before going to bed, I would not only check under my bed for any…
