Great things about books

"Haha when you compare books to electronic ones, this does seem to be the case. It's unfortunate that physical books are becoming more and more obsolete as technology takes over though."

13 things I have liked and learned

Posted on May 26, 2013 at 1:56pm 9 Comments

Thirteen Reasons Why, by Jay Asher, is a book from the perspective of Clay Jensen. A girl that he knew, Hannah Baker, has jut committed suicide.  One night, tapes showed up at Clay’s doorstep to explain why Hannah killed herself. The tapes also tell which people were the thirteen reasons why and Clay is one of them.

I loved this book so much. I was reading this book during class and instead of doing my actual homework. It…

Q4: Reading: past, present, and future

Posted on May 19, 2013 at 7:44pm 6 Comments

This year in English class, we have read our independent reading books every day for 10 minutes. This has really affected my reading life because I doubt I would have picked up a book at all this year.

I love reading but this year I was really busy with schoolwork and extracurricular activities. The time that I got really helped me to focus on a book and make time in my schedule for reading. I have read some really good books this year. Some highlights would…

April: Steal the Book Thief...or many buy it for the kindle

It is not like any Holocaust book because it is narrated from the point of view of Death, who is unbiased while everyone’s story, German or Jew, is told. There are three main people who have a story to tell, Liesel Meminger, Hans Huberman, and Max Vandenburg with the occasional interjection from death.…

For example, I watched The Order of the Phoenix, and then I read The Half Blood Prince, and then watching the movie The Half Blood Prince. I like doing this because I like seeing how the visual version differs from what I imagine in my head while that image is still fresh in my mind.…
