Please Let Me In... No.

In 1q84 by Haruki Murakami, the story revolves around parallel universes. The main characters go through series of questionable events, and they end up questioning almost everything that they do.The idea of the book is based on the nonsense that is shown throughout the novel. One juxtaposition that is constant throughout the novel is the juxtaposition of the ordinary inside the extraordinary. The regular with the abnormal. “Using the food still left in the refrigerator, she made herself some…See More

Feeling Isolated to Death

What is life? What is death? What about life is so different from death? These questions come up a lot in the story of Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami. Set place during the 1900’s in Hamburg Germany, Tory Watanabe is a 37-year old man who recalls his past through the whole story. After that brief…See More

Fear Shouldn't Control You

Imagine this scenario in your head. You are a child. Playful and innocent with a pure mind. But that disappears when the one person who you trusted the most does something that traumatizes you and gets them in prison. Although heavily traumatized, you feel safe now that that person is locked up. But then they get out before their sentence is over. All of a sudden the fear and the anxiety from before wells up in you and right when you try to forget about it, they come back in a way that makes it…See More

The Freedom Writers name was made from inspiration from the Freedom Riders. In a sense,…See More

Thoughts on Camus's The Stranger

Posted on January 13, 2017 at 3:00pm 0 Comments

When we think about our existence in this world, what comes to mind? The choices we make in this world? Whether or not there is meaning behind our actions in our everyday lives? How much freedom do we actually have control of based on our acts of will? Are we living in a universe that works in absurd ways? These questions you may or may not have thought about ever. However, these questions are commonly brought up in the philosophical book The Stranger by Albert…
