Vincent Sorrentino commented on Courtney Robb's blog post Social Networking as a source of reading?
"I agree with you. Sometimes. My teacher has used articles and social networking sites to show us examples in ever day life of stuff we are reading in literature. But the kind of stuff that kids write on facebook aren't really what I'd call…"

Johnny Whitfield commented on Courtney Robb's blog post Social Networking as a source of reading?
"While social networking is not a good place for literature  or learning good grammer (tee hee), it is a source that we are constantly reading from. Depending on who it is posting on Facebook or the like, it might not be a clump of poor English…"

Katherine Foong commented on Courtney Robb's blog post The End Is Near
"I think finals don’t quite benefit us in the fact that they are the very last days of school. Everyone probably wants to leave school and therefore rush through finals; but also the fact that we never go over the answers. I think that…"

Harry Winter commented on Courtney Robb's blog post The End Is Near
"I agree that second semester finals can be very beneficial. I also like the feeling that I earned the summer instead of just automatically being given 3 months off."

Anders Dinterman commented on Courtney Robb's blog post The End Is Near
"It's an interesting take on finals. I feel like, with summer just around the corner, students aren't compelled to do the same level of review that they might normally engage in. But finals definitely has a beneficial side to it if you…"

Anushka Vazirani commented on Courtney Robb's blog post The End Is Near
"I completely agree with Nick. Anyone who took AP classes this year was probably so relieved to have them over with, only to come back the next week with teachers telling us all we have to get ready for finals. I personally don't benefit from…"

Peace, Love & Baby Ducks

For my final reading blog I chose to read Peace, Love & Baby Ducks. Like always, I have never been disappointed with a Lauren Myracle book. Throughout the story, we see Carly trying to be herself while going through tons of challenges us teen girls go through throughout high school. When Carly goes away for the summer, she later comes home to find her little sister Anna blossomed. Carly soon feels like a fish out of water when she returns to high school and is surrounded by  snooty stuck up…See More

Nick Fishburn commented on Courtney Robb's blog post The End Is Near
"Finals, and even the whole month of May kill me. After taking the AP US History final on the 11th of this month, I just wanted to shut down. But then I remembered I had finals and I attempted to kick it up a gear, however with summer being right…"

Courtney Robb commented on Allie Oakes's blog post Isn't the end of the year supposed to be a blow off? #falsepretenses
"Today I just finished my last math lesson of the year. In all of my other classes though I feel like we are still doing tons of things. The unfortunate part in this is that with only a week till finals I feel completely unprepared for them.…"

Rachel Misic commented on Courtney Robb's blog post The End Is Near
"Finals are very ineffective in my opinion, Courtney. Not only do you revisit material that you learned months previous and forgot all about, but the packets and workload completely drains you. You already have to clear out your brain from the…"

Courtney Robb commented on Kristin Tran's blog post What defines you?
"Like Jaye, before we discussed this topic in class I didn't ever really think of defining myself. Now after reflecting on the question I don't think I can really define myself. I'm constantly changing and even when I'm not,…"

Courtney Robb commented on Michael Chemello's blog post How do you Brainstorm for a Book Blog?
"I never really thought of how I created book blogs before, but now that you mention it I definitely see myself as having to finish the book before reflecting on it. I like to get a full understanding before I go and write about it because what if I…"

Courtney Robb commented on Morgan Johnson's blog post Black or White, Is It Really That Important?
"I agree with Lauren, although I don't think it mattered which girl was black or which one was white I did wondered which was which. In society I don't think that race necessarily matters as it is more as an identifier. Of course anything…"

Lauren Burke commented on Courtney Robb's blog post Social Networking as a source of reading?
"I agree that socially networking is not really reading and I don't get nearly as much out of Facebook than I do from reading a book. I actually pick up bad grammar habits from going on Facebook so I don't think it's the best source of…"

Lauren Burke commented on Courtney Robb's blog post The End Is Near

The End Is Near

Posted on May 27, 2012 at 10:00am 14 Comments

With the end of the school year coming up right around the corner, I am sure that I can speak for everybody when I say that I am excited for summer. Unfortunately, with summer comes the dreaded end of the year finals. I started to get my final packets last week, and the second I got them, my heart sank. I found that it is hard to think about studying when you have been doing it all year and you just want a break. Do we even benefit from having finals at the end of the school year?…

Social Networking as a source of reading?

Posted on March 14, 2012 at 9:00pm 4 Comments

I remember that one time I was in class when my classmates and I were asked "Who read something over the summer." Being the avid book reader I am, I raised my hand. Only to find that I was one of the only few people who had. Soon after, my teacher pointed out that reading is no longer just for books. Reading has been extended to newspapers, ads, texts, and of course social networking. Although it's true that, yes you do read things on Facebook and Twitter, I do not believe that it is a…

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Posted on March 14, 2012 at 8:30pm 2 Comments

So if you read my first Harry Potter blog post, you know that I am in love with the book and movie series. Unfortunately I  just began the series, so I have just finished reading the first three books. I have to say that out of the first three, I have officially fallen in love with the third book. The series just seems to get better and better! In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Harry becomes a third year at Hogwarts. This time the infamous mass murder Sirius Black…
