I was excited today to see a professional writer perform. I again went during 3rd period and got to watch Tyehimba Jess, a professional writer and poet. He shared with the audience some "syncopated sonnets" that he wrote. These poems described the life of conjoined twins, and I thought this was a very nice way to represent them - the poem had 1 body but 2 different voices and sides. He also wrote these poems in a way that they could be read in any direction - top to bottom or bottom to top and on either side. Overall I thought this was a very unique and inspirational form of poetry.
